Have a Heart for Harvest

The holiday season for 2007 has come and gone, and Winnipeg Harvest thanks the many chiropractic offices throughout Manitoba who have supported us during the past year. As a result of your commitment to our community, we were able to provide emergency food assistance to thousands of individuals and families throughout the province. With the help of your office food drives, the MCA annual golf tournament and individual donations from chiropractors, we have been able to distribute over 8 million pounds of food over the last twelve months.


As we begin a new year, we are currently sharing food with over 38,000 Manitobans each month. We know that in the early spring our warehouse food supply will be significantly depleted. To tie in with Valentine's day we ask that you "have a Heart" for Harvest. From February 11th to 15th of this year, participating Chiropractic offices will be accepting food donations.

The 2006 title was awarded to Waverley Chiropractic Centre whose accumulated food and cash donations amounted to 70, 088 lbs. The real winner of this event, however, is Winnipeg Harvest. Thanks to the caring hearts of chiropractors, their families, their staff and patients, last year’s event tipped our scales at 105,000 lbs. in total food contributions!

Again you are encouraged to participate by dropping off a food or cash donation at your Chiropractor's office between February 11th and 15th.
